Ultrasonic anti-recording devices vs Jammers
Expired

In the world of audio security many devices that claim to protect conversations from audio spies use the phrase 'jammer' or 'jamming' to describe their functionality. Since actual RF jamming is illegal, using this phrase to describe ultrasonic interference as jamming is becoming problematic.

Customers use the search term 'jammer' when googling audio security so it makes sense that dealers would reflect this in website SEO. However credit card processors using AI to crawl the content of sites may believe dealers, selling perfectly legal ultrasonic devices, are actually selling illegal devices and refuse to process payment. This blog is a note of warning for dealers who may want to consider updating their search terms.

Let's clarify what each – ultrasonic anti-recorders vs audio jammers – actually do:

Ultrasonic audio tools, such as the Power Bank Style Anti-Recorder (NG3500), emit an inaudible white noise — sound waves above 25 kHz—that most microphones in small spaces can detect, resulting in garbled recordings. Unlike devices that target radio communications, these ultrasonic audio devices operate solely on acoustic principles, leaving cell phones, GPS, and other radio-based systems unaffected.

RF jammers emit radio frequencies to block signals like cell phones or GPS, violating laws like 47 U.S.C. § 333 by affecting authorized communications. Signal jamming devices can prevent you and others from making 9-1-1 and other emergency calls and pose serious risks to public safety communications, as well as interfere with other forms of day-to-day communications.

Simply put ultrasonic devices such as NG3700, NG3600, and NG3500 use sound waves to protect conversations from being recorded. RF jammers use radio waves. It's a clear difference.

KJB Security has recently re-written our SEO to eliminate the use of the phrase jammers or jamming from description of our anti-recording devices. While it may result in a temporary drop in search traffic we're encouraging other dealers to do likewise.

Rest assured that all three of our our anti-recorders (large room, small room, power bank style) are still fully capable of blocking recording of conversations. See our demo video here:
